Mailbox Monday

Love this neighbourhood collection of wooden, painted mailboxes! Each little area seemed to have one of these - some with a two or three and some like this! It was hard not to stop and check them all out ("Who is that crazy lady taking picture of our mailboxes?") but wanted to avoid international scandal - haha! I do love the communal feel and rustic nature of this collection. Hegra, Norway.

Hope everyone is finding ways to stay cool in this warm weather. More blogging coming soon. Have a wonderful week!

Mailbox Monday

This is my friend's mailbox (on right) in Norway where I send all my mail and packages!
Had to include it - love it! Just peeking past it at the garden, the house, even the cars makes me wish I was there. It was a lovely, relaxing trip (now my mail enjoys that journey lol). Wishing I was there for strawberry season - best strawberries I have ever eaten (all that sun!).

Have a lovely week everyone! Happy 1st and Happy 4th!
Enjoy some time with family and friends and be summery!

Mailbox Monday

Visiting a store in Trondheim and came across this wall of post boxes - love them! Probably the only person in the world who stops to take photos of mailboxes on a trip but I thought they were lovely (not even sure which colour I would choose).

Mailbox Monday

Nothing says 'rustic' like your mailbox nailed to a tree! Love it!
You'll notice a Norwegian theme for the next few
Mailbox Mondays - this is in Leksvik.

Mailbox Monday

Venezia

Mailbox Monday or Casella Postale Lunedi comes to you from Venice, Italy. My lovely cousin was visiting Italy (with her 4 month old son - who was a rockstar on the plane by the way) and snapped this great photo of this fab mailbox. Dreaming of travel!

Have a great week everyone!

We went to a Lego Exhibition as a family on Friday and came across this Lego gem!
A little Royal Mail truck! How sweet!

Mailbo[ok]x Monday

Books are good.

So I had completely forgotten about this book from my childhood and happened across it a few days ago in one of my favourite places (oh you know where) and thought I would share it with you for Mailbox Monday! It was a little trip down memory lane for me as I browsed through its pages. An old favourite is a great gift to give someone in person or in the mail.

Have a wonderful week!

Mailbox "Fun"day

It's Valentine's Day this week so I opted for Mailbox "Fun"day instead of Mailbox Monday. Yesterday my daughter and I went to my best friend's (Harmony) daughter's (Everleigh) first birthday - she is an almost Valentine's Day baby (February 13th). And for her first birthday Harmony decided to embrace a Valentine's Day/Love theme! It was a lot of fun and let me tell you that Harmony makes THE best sugar cookies (delicious and beautiful) but what fits in best with this little blog of mine is the craft all the kids got to make...a Valentine's Day mailbox (clearly she is my best friend for a reason). She is incredibly crafty (in a good way) - her kids are lucky to have her and so are her students.

Here is the set up:

Yep, those are diaper wipe boxes!

Action shot!

And here is Piper's finished product!

The cool thing is...you still have time to make one (if you are so inclined). Thanks Harmony for giving me some Mailbox Monday material and throwing a great party! A very Happy 1st Birthday to Miss Everleigh!

Have a wonderful week everyone! Here in BC we are celebrating Family Day (mostly by watching the Olympics).

Mailbox Monday

My friend Poppy who lives in Gloucester sent me this great picture of a mailbox that is just down the road from her house. Here is her description:

This post-box is just 5 minutes down the road from our place and still very much in use! I guess it was once fixed to a living tree, which then got chopped down to leave only a stump, which then became home to the ivy and the mile-a-minute weed… it makes me chuckle to think that someone goes to all the effort of giving it a haircut!

Thanks so much for this one Poppy - a great start to the week!

Mailbox Monday

Okay, I snapped this one quick today! It's outside one of my favourite restaurants - The Vault - it used to be a bank (you can even sit in the old vault). I haven't seen a mailbox outside any of the other businesses in the area...so this just makes me love them even more! I definitely love this style (as you can probably tell).

Have a wonderful day everyone!

Mailbox Monday

Well...I missed last Monday (you may or may have not noticed). I was so excited that my husband's family (sister-in-law, brother-in-law & my beautiful nieces) was coming home from a two and half week trip to India - I was a little distracted! And along the travel theme I was searching through some photos today and came across this photo I took in Venice. Not for display purposes - this is actually someone's mailbox!

Gorgeous!

Okay, I also have to post this drool-worthy store window...oh a trip to Italy...
that would be lovely!

Seriously, who takes a photo of a paper store...I do! I do!

Have a great week!

Mailbox Monday

Okay, so this probably looks a little like "Advent Calendar Monday" doesn't it? But I had to share this amazing advent calendar I received in December from a beautiful friend (who clearly gets me)! Such a lovely selection of teas and I thought about her with each cup and shared some with friends too! Tea, friends, Advent - these are wonderful things.

And now let the New Year begin!
Happy Monday everyone - I've been thinking about you all!

Mailbox Monday

From World Market - one of my favourite stores!

Here is today's mailbox. It definitely has me thinking of mailboxes as home decor. I heard this week that Canada Post is going to be phasing out door to door delivery and transitioning to community mailboxes. I haven't had door to door delivery since I was...well, a long time ago (in my teens) but it still makes me a little sad that people won't need personal mailboxes or mail slots. So truly, mailboxes as home decor might be the wave of the future (starting trend now). Have a great week everyone!

Mailbox Monday

A Santa Mailbox!
I found this gem in my Christmas tree decorations. The end comes off and you put your letter to Santa inside - I haven't used it yet but this year might be the year! A very festive Mailbox Monday for you.  I keep surprising myself with all of these mail related objects that I didn't realize I had - each discovery is like...well...Christmas!

Happy Monday! It's snowing here - Winter Wonderland!

Mailbox Monday

Christmas Mailbox!

Someone special and thoughtful picked this up for me - a Christmas mailbox! How cute! Perfect for wrapping up a sweet little gift. My daughter has been delivering me all kinds of mail in this little tin wonder (princesses, stickers, and puffs - see below). My kids have both been loading it up with puffs and emptying it out, and loading it up and...

Puffs, puffs and more puffs!

Have a wonderful week everyone!

Mailbox Monday (the late edition)

Even Goofy has a Mailbox!

It's been a fun, goofy weekend with movies, costume making and pumpkin carving! This is a throwback to our spring break but it seemed to fit with things here lately (and can I say - I love the details that Disney puts into everything).  Enjoy today's (tonight's) mailbox - it's going to be a great week!

Mailbox Monday

Loving this copper beauty!

Thank you to CopperDesign for letting me post this lovely mailbox. I love the copper patina look and how special is that little mailbox key! Since I don't need an actual mailbox maybe I'll just start putting them up on one of my walls as art (seriously) or as organizational tools (hmmm...might be on to something here)!

In other news...have you started Christmas shopping yet? Have you thought about buying local and/or handmade? Think about it! Not only will you give unique gifts that people will love - you will also be supporting people who are doing what they love to support themselves and their families. Etsy is a great place to start but crafts fairs, local businesses, home parties...are places to consider too. I've already started at all of the above - yay!

Mailbox Monday

A few gems from Etsy.com today!

Sweetest Little Fairy Mailbox!

I've been telling my daughter fairy stories about little doors in gardens, rocks, and trees for a little while now and she loves them. And I've seen lots of little doors to buy for the garden but a mailbox? Thank you DragonFlyStudioArts - what a grand idea! Thanks to Janee for letting me post her picture here.

What lovely fun for your little one!
Another cool mailbox to share! This one is from LittleCrickets - so much love! This is a pdf pattern and she has a lot of great patterns in her store. Thanks to Mecca for letting me post her picture here.

Just some sweet mailbox fun for you on this Mailbox Monday!

Mailbox Monday

Yep, this is my mailbox!
I thought I should share my actual mailbox today because, while it isn't a show stopper, I do appreciate the care and love that goes into the mail I receive in there. And for those visual people who need to know where I go each day - this is it.

And on a somewhat related topic - I LOVE advent calendars! 24/25 little doors with surprises behind each one...gee, what a shock they are on my LOVE list (a guarantee of good "mail" everyday)! I have been in love with them for years and finally have my very own beautiful wooden one but I love the paper ones too. And it turns out I'm not the only one - I just read about some cool ones that different businesses are offering up for this coming December (hello David's Tea, Starbucks & Benefit....not to mention that Lego puts one out each year). Okay, all to say that I think that, come November, Mailbox Monday might become Advent Calendar Monday - not as catchy as Mailbox Monday but all those in favour say "Ay" (want to see cool Advent calendars). It shall be done.
